Zebulon, North Carolina, – Nomacorc®, the world’s leading manufacturer of synthetic closures to the wine industry, today announced Lars von Kantzow as the company’s new Chief Executive Officer and President. von Kantzow officially takes the reigns of the company in January. Marc Noël, founder and current CEO/President, is transitioning to fully focus on his position as chairman of Noël Group, the parent company of Nomacorc.

“I am pleased to announce that Lars von Kantzow has accepted the position of CEO/President of Nomacorc,” said Noël. “With Lars, Nomacorc has a successor who will lead the company with the same strong values that have positioned Nomacorc as the leading global supplier of synthetic closures to the wine industry. Beyond his skills, experience and past successes, Lars has a demonstrated respect for customers, suppliers, employees and shareholders.”

von Kantzow brings a wealth of knowledge and experience from various industries in both international and North American markets. He started his professional career in brand marketing with Procter & Gamble in Switzerland. For the past three years, von Kantzow has been President of TriCrown Consulting, providing expertise in market positioning, branding and corporate identity. Prior to TriCrown Consulting, he served nine years as President and Chief Executive Officer of Pergo, Inc., the pioneer of laminate flooring in North America. He is credited with leading Pergo, Inc. to become the top laminate manufacturer in North America and one of the most recognized brands within the entire flooring industry.

“Lars takes over the reigns of Nomacorc at a time when we are implementing a new and exciting long-range business strategy,” says Noël. “Given Lars’ impressive track record and belief in furthering customer driven relationships, I am confident in his ability to face the challenges ahead.”

“I am very excited and honored to be joining this innovative, international company that has seen such rapid growth since its inception,” said von Kantzow. “I see parallels between Nomacorc and Pergo – not only in fast growth, but also the marketing and product development challenges of substituting a conventional product.”

A native of Sweden, von Kantzow holds a graduate degree in business administration from the University of Geneva in Switzerland. He is a member of Wachovia Bank's Central Regional Board and Chairman of the Swedish American Chamber of Commerce of the Carolinas. He also serves on the National Board of Advisors for Duke Children's Hospital and the board of the Floor Covering Industry Foundation.
